Meet Linda Monas

Welcome to LBM Academic Consulting! As the President and Lead Consultant, I founded LBM Academic Consulting to provide a personalized, streamlined approach to college admissions, focusing on the unique needs of high school students.

My passion for this field sparked while helping my sons through their college admissions journeys. During this time, I developed deep insights into the complex layers associated with college admissions. My experiences inspired me to pursue formal education in college counseling to simplify and organize the process for other students and help them find their best college fit.

Before college consulting, I honed my communication, marketing, and organizational skills for nearly a decade in medical sales. Subsequently, I volunteered for many years to support the Type 1 Diabetes community, including running support groups, mentoring families, and training school staff on diabetes and insulin pump therapy.

My professional and volunteer background, natural connection with teens, and love of research and ongoing learning shape how I help students explore and deepen their areas of interest, identify best-fit colleges, and succeed in the rapidly changing world of college admissions.

As a member in good standing of the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA) and the Texas Association for College Admission Counseling, I am bound by strict ethical guidelines for working with students, families, schools, and colleges.

I attend professional conferences and other educational events and visit numerous colleges annually to stay current with the trends and the rapidly changing admissions landscape. Through my involvement with professional organizations, I frequently collaborate with fellow educational consultants and other college preparation and admissions professionals.
